Oksanna Crawley
A juicy writing bug bit Oksanna in grade four. Her teacher asked her to read her scary Hallowe’en story to the class. When Ohsanna finished reading, her classmates broke out in wild applause. That was it! She was going to be an author. But Life had other plans. After graduating from the University of Toronto in Linguistics, Oksanna move to Saskatchewan to begin an 8-year career in radio broadcasting. Then, she became a kindergarten and early literacy teacher for 25 years. After she retired, Oksanna returned to her first loves from high school – creative writing and art. She has co-written and illustrated the picture book, Pirate Glitterbeard, with her daughter, Larissa. Oksanna is of Ukrainian descent and speaks the language fluently.
